Our Mission:

To Heal.

Twenty years ago, St. Benedict Joseph Medical Center was a dream, a dream to serve our least fortunate brothers and sisters in the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Today, it is a thriving medical clinic offering free medical assistance to those who would otherwise not receive it.

The St. Benedict Joseph Medical Center is a two-story facility with consultation rooms, a pre-op area, four operating rooms, recovery room, patient rooms for short term recovery after surgery, a pharmacy and dental clinic. The St. Gerard program for pre and post-natal care, rural health program. The clinic also offers ophthamology, psychology, and nutrition consultations.

Our Impact

On a monthly basis the Medical Center averages more than 2000 consultations. Eight to Ten times a year Medical Brigades from the States come to offer surgical procedures, often 100 or more in a week’s time, otherwise unavailable to the poor.

Thank you, for without your direct help we would not be able to offer such important services. Please help us to continue this wonderful apostolate to the poor!

I have gone on 2 mission trips to Comayagua, and as each mission has come to an end I have been eager for the next to begin. That simple statement, “I guess I could go,” has become, to my gratitude and surprise, one of the most rewarding I have made.
