How It All Started
Soon after Hurricane Mitch wrought devastation throughout Honduras, the friars moved to Comayagua, Honduras and set up their first friary in Central America. After years of listening to the people, and discerning what their most pressing material needs were, the friars, under the leadership of Fr. Herald Brock, CFR, and in collaboration with Light of the World Ministries, started fundraising for a new medical center, the Saint Benedict Joseph Medical Center, and God provided! As Fr. Herald says so eloquently, the Saint Benedict Joseph Medical Center is quite clearly "a work of God."
